My girlfriend and I went to 4th St. Cafe around 8:30pm on a Sunday and was pleased by its pleasant, down-to-Earth, no-frills appearance. It's definitely a `hole-in-the-wall` type of place and anyone going for the ambiance will be disappointed. But we were searching for a `best kept secret` place and found it at 4th St. Cafe. Our waitress was very friendly, albeit quiet, yet very efficient. We started out with the nacho appetizer. Turns out we could have feasted on that by itself! It was delivered piping hot (after a hearty `order up!` from the kitchen in the back of the place) with lots of hamburger, black beans, cheese, cream cheese and salsa. It was a tad spicy but very tasty. We simply couldn't finish it all!
We then feasted on the `build your own quesadillas`. She had one with chicken, two types of cheese and salsa built while I had the chicken with sausage, onions and cheese. They were both very tasty.
We sat there for a bit after eating, taking in the surroundings and watching a bit of `The Matrix` on the TV that's over the bar. The patrons seemed very friendly and obviously knew one another. They would even help themselves to coffee from behind the bar!
We really enjoyed 4th St. Cafe and will certainly go back again! :-D
