I have only visited Brooklyn Cafe a few times...each time hoping it would get better. The last time, the time when I made the decision never to go there again, the not-so-friendly hostess put us toward the back (where they drag the trash out the door to the dumpster). Besides that, I could see into to the extremly dirty, I'm sure unsanitary, servers station. It makes me wonder what else I'm getting besides food and drink. If the servers station looks like that, what does the kitchen look like?? My husband and I split a shrimp appetizer with a blue cheese polenta cake, it's sounds good, but the shrimp was bad. Our dinners weren't much better. The New York strip was over-done, and my rissoto cakes had no taste. To top it off, the owner made a point to come by every table with the timing just interrupting your first bite. Then he would stand there and babble over you while your food gets cold. Sorry to be such a poor sport, but I would not recommend this restaurant...you can do much better!
