I have been several times. The food is excellent, especially the crab and corn chowder and the best crab cakes around - lots of chunks of crab meat! The biggest problem is that the restaurant is so small that the wait is fairly long, and if you make reservations (groups of 6 or more) they are very strict about not seating you until everyone arrives. Backfin's Bayside Grill, around the corner from Backfin Blue Cafe, serves the same delicious food without having to wait. The atmosphere at the grill is much more casual, but I have never had to wait for a table there. Beware - the Grill is closed on Mondays and the Cafe is closed on Tuesdays. Also, the Cafe was closed during Labor Day week (the whole week) when we tried going then. So call in advance. The only bad experience was when we turned up late on saturday an hour before closing, waited an hour, and found out after we had ordered the crab and corn soup that they only had one bowl left - very disappointing!
