Just the Fax!THE POINT: The Jazz Factory was a nice place to take a date but not where I would take my whole family. Its great if you are looking for the very romantic restaurant for you and your signifigant other and the music is excellent. The food is a bit on the more expensive side and don't expect to walk out of there with less than a $50 dollar check for the both of you. If you are a college student and you are taking your date out, I would suggest holding off on all the alcohol purchases for a while to go to this restaurant.
THE FOOD: The food is different. Its not what you are going to see at those `chain restaurants` but you can tell some prep work came into it.
MUSIC: Me and my date went on a Friday night and they were having `Swing Night`. This was very nice because it was not obtrusive. We ended up staying there quite a long time just listening to the music so I thought that was nice.
SERVICE: This was the one thing I was upset about. I am one of those people that say `If they keep the glass full, they get a better tip`. From the way the night was going, it took them forever to get us drink refills. I asked twice for refills and they did finally get there but it was annoying having to wait that long when I am eating my food. So if you want to get a drink on time, go back there and refill it yourself:). Other than that, they were very friendly.
PREP: You definately want to make reservations for this place. If you are planning on taking your date there on a Friday night. I would suggest doing by the Tuesday before. This will just ensure that you will not be there forever waiting on your table. I made reservations on Tuesday and by the time we arrived there on Friday, we walked right in to our table without any waiting.
Hope this helps. Jiggy
