A friend of a friend recommended this place to me saying it `was her favorite in N.Y. Now it's one of my favorites. The room is spare, but tasteful and calming. Service is helpful and very good at helping me navigate the esoteric winelist. The food is really top-notch. There never seems to be a wasted ingredient- if a spice, or a sauce is mentioned you know why after one bite. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience without the snobbishness and high price of many so-called `great` restaurants in NYC
