I've eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed it immensely. The restaurant is quiet until just before 9 pm when people arrive to hear the jazz band. The food has always been delicious. It's understood that I will order the vegetarian combo and my husband orders a meat dish. We particularly enjoy the kitfo - finely chopped steak and spices - served raw. If you don't like the thought of eating raw beef, they will cook it for you. The lamb is also very tender and savory.
The food is traditionally served on one platter over a large injera - a spongy, pancake-like sourdough bread - and injera is served on the side. Don't ask for silverware. You rip off pieces of injera and use it to pick up the food. Very fun!
The service can be a little slow but still friendly and accommodating. The eating area is smallish and the bar/band area much larger.
Overall, a really terrific place.
