In a city full of better than average Japanese restaurants, Cotan stands fins and flippers above the rest!
Superlatively fresh fish every single day makes this my #1 spot for sushi. Don't neglect to order the spicy yellowtail roll (it's my favorite item).
All the kitchen items are great too, particularly the tempuras and the salads. There are always lots of authentic and exotic special items for the brave and the large Japanese clientele.
It's casual and comfortable, with an attentive staff. The owner is behind the sushi bar most nights, and he is proud to say that he pays his fish guy before he pays himself, which explains the fish. I've been going there many years, and have never ever been disappointed.
