The Scottsdale Chart House opened in 1990, just after the first boom here went bust. They bought the property on Scottsdale Road in anticipation of another boom in the Southwest. Well, they played their cards right, and are now among the few locations in the Metro area set on the water.
A million dollar remodeling two years ago added a more spacious lounge area and private party space in the "Arizona Room." When sitting in the dining room or the "Arizona Room" you'll have gorgeous views of Camelback Mountain and McCormick Lake.
This Chart House still has its salad bar ... and boy is it awesome ... with everything from hand tossed Caesar salads and hearts of palm, to fresh papaya and three types of caviar. Along with the usual entrée selections of steaks and prime rib, are four fresh fish specials just about every day. The ala carte items, such as the creamed spinach or twice baked potatoes, are meant for sharing.
To drink, there are several "flights" of wines offered that enable you to sample more of the generous wine list without over doing it ... as well as 20 or so other selections by the glass.
The wait staff knows the menu inside & out and many of them have been there for years (loyalty rarely found these days at other local restaurants).
This is a great restaurant in a great location with very consistent food. Stop by for dinner and save room for the Mud Pie!
